About the event

Tom was born on a small farm in the Orkney Islands and has been immersed in Orkney’s culture, history, archaeology, local lore and folklore for his entire life. He has a deep knowledge of Orkney, its stories and its people. Tom championed Orkney folk tales at a time when they were universally ignored and that saw him become (by accident) a storyteller. He now has the distinction of being the only living Orcadian telling stories professionally. Tom has travelled the world telling stories, from the Canadian Arctic to the shores of Hong Kong. He has also written numerous books on Orkney folk tales, Icelandic Sagas and history. We are absolutely delighted that he has agreed to join us for an evening of stories in June. WE ARE RECORDING THIS EVENT, so if you can't make 14th June, please buy a View Later ticket and we will send you a link to enable you watch at your leisure.
